Later in life they moved to Sidney, MT. to be close to their son Willet and passed away. Willett and Mary died within one day of each other.

Mining man taken 24 hours after death of his wife. Sidney, Nov. 20. Twenty four hours after the death of his wife, Charles W. Searles, age 84, widely known Colorado mining man died yesterday at home of his son in Sidney. Searles was born in New York and came to Colorado in 1890. He lived in Greely for a short time and then went to Cripple Creek, where he was engaged in mining and was mayor for 10 years. He and Mrs. Searles 78 came in Sept. because of failing health. A double funeral service and burial will be held.

Mrs. Kendel's uncle and aunt die in Montana; Eaton, Nov. 22.-Mre. Nina Kendel has received word of the death of her uncle, Charles W. Searles, long associated with raining interests in Cripple Creek district, a brother of late A.F. Searles of Eaton. Mr. Searles died Nov. 19 at the home of his son, Willett F. Searles, in Sidney, Mont., 24 hours after his wife, Minnie Freer Searles had died. Mr. Searles has often visited in Eaton. Double funeral services were conducted at Congregational Church in Sidney, Saturday afternoon. Burial was at Sidney Cemetery.
