William Trask House, son of Rockwell William House & Sarah Maria Trask, was born Aug 4, 1836 in Wells Twp. Bradford Co. PA. Between 1849-1850, the family moved to Farmington Twp. Tioga Co. PA, where he grew up. Around 1857-58, he went to Stephenson Co. IL where he taught school in Lena, IL. He also was a store-keeper.
In 1861 he joined the Civil War (Union), Co. G, IL 15th Infantry & served until Nov. 1964. In 1865 he married Melinda (Linda) Brigham & they settled in Cuivre Twp. Audrain Co. MO, where he farmed.
He died in 1881 in a sawmill accident in Wellsville, MO, leaving his wife, & daughters Nellie Amelia & Adnil Eunice.
