Judge Daniel Wallace LeBlanc
.
Died at his home on Sunday, May 12, 2013. He was a native of Baton Rouge and a graduate of Catholic High School, Springhill College, Mobile, AL and Loyola School of Law. A decorated veteran, he served 13 months in the Korean War. After his military service, he became an FBI agent and then he had a private law practice for ten years. His Judicial career began as a City Court Judge, then he served as a Judge of the 19th Judicial District and completed his career in the First Circuit Court of Appeal. He was a member of the Baton Rouge Bar Association, the Louisiana Bar Association, and the City Club. In retirement Judge LeBlanc enjoyed his volunteer work at the Baton Rouge General Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Percival Lange LeBlanc and his daughters, Michelle "Mimi" Leblanc Richardson and husband, Dr. Romie N. Richardson of San Antonio, TX and Emily LeBlanc Reech and husband, Christopher D. Reech of Baton Rouge. Also surviving are his granddaughters, Nicole Marie Richardson of Austin, TX and Margaret Marie Richardson of San Antonio and his grandson, PFC Timothy Daniel Reech of Ft. Stewart, Hinesville, GA. He is survived by a brother Fred S. LeBlanc, Jr. of Baltimore, MD and a sister, Jane LeBlanc McMahon of Austin. Judge LeBlanc was preceded by his parents, Fred S. and Genevieve Bruce LeBlanc, an infant granddaughter, Danielle LeBlanc Root, and a brother, Patrick H. LeBlanc. Visiting will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street, Tuesday, May 14, 2013 from 5 pm until 8 pm. Visiting continues at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Avenue, Wednesday, May 15, 2013 from 9:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, Masses are preferred, or contributions to Hospice of Baton Rouge, or a charity of your choice .
