LIZTON: Death of Minnie Kennedy.

Mrs. Minnie Kennedy was born at Raintown, Indiana on 22 April 1872, departed this life 6 June 1911, aged 39 years, 1 month, 25 days. She was the oldest daughter of Joseph and Julia Kenney (sic, should be Keeney). Her mother died when she was a very small child. She united with the Christian church at Pittsboro, Indiana in the fall of 1895 under the pastorate of Rev. J.V. Coombs, her membership remaining with that church until her death. She was united in marriage to Elmer N. Kennedy 19 October 1897. To this union was born three children 2 boys and one girl. She leaves a father, husband, one sister and one half sister to mourn her departure. Minnie was what might be termed an invalid for several years and had been bedfast for about three or four months. Services were held at the home south of Lizton conducted by Rev. Graham. Interment at K. of P. cemetery Friday at 10 a.m.

Lizton - Once again have our hearts saddened because the Reaper that has all seasons for his own has visited our community. This time, Mrs. Elmer Kennedy fell. Her maiden name was Minnie Keeney. She was born at Rainstown April 22, 1872 and died June 6, 1911, aged 39 years, one month and 25 days. She united with the Christian church at Pittsboro, in the fall of 1895 under the preaching of Rev. J. V. Coombs and lived the Christian life to the end, attending church service as much as her health and circumstances would permit. She and Elmer Kennedy were married October 19, 1897 and to them were born two sons and a daughter who with the husband, father, step-mother and sisters survive. The funeral was held at the home at 10 a.m. Friday.

Mrs. Minnie Kennedy, 38, wife of Elmer Kennedy living east of Montclair, died at her home early yesterday morning after an illness of several months of lung trouble. She leaves a husband and three small children. The funeral will be held at the Christian church in Lizton and burial will be in the K. of P. cemetery at Lizton. Rev. Graham, Indianapolis, will conduct the funeral. Deceased is a daughter of Joseph B. Keeney of Indianapolis, who formerly conducted a store at Rainstown. She is a cousin of George Keeney of this place.
