Gerhardt Jentsch Sr., 74, a resident of the Chilton Village Nursing home, Chilton, died there today following a short illness.
Born Dec. 8, 19103 in the town of Rantoul, (Calumet Co). He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Herman Jentsch. On July 27, 1932, he married Arline Krahn. She died in 1958. Mr. Jentsch spent most of his lifetime in the Chilton area where he engaged in farming. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in the town of Rantoul.
Surviving are nine sons, Waltermore, Gerhard, Gustave, Hugo and Ronald, all of rural Random Lake, Alvin of West Bend, Arthur of Saukville, Roger of Plymouth and Allen of Sheboygan and three daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Esther) Wagner of Chilton, Mrs. Karl (Anna) Praefke of Glendale, and Mrs. Glen (Lorraine) Gross of Sheboygan.
He is also survived by 28 grandchildren, four great grandchildren; two brothers, Robert of Manitowoc and Walter of Hilbert; four sisters, Mrs. Helen Schroeder of Brillion, Mrs. Frieda Gruett and Mrs. Anna Krueger both of Brillion and Mrs. Lydia Bratz of Reedsville.
Two sons, two daughters, two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church at Sherman Center. The Rev. Herbert Ries, pastor will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
