Lee Travis Petty, III, age 64, Joplin, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013 at Freeman West Hospital.

Lee was born August 10, 1948 in Duenweg, Missouri, son of the late Lee Travis Petty, Jr. and Luma Mae "Billie" Phelps Petty. He graduated from High School, and worked in sales for over 35 years at Joplin Supply, retiring in 2010. He was a member of College Heights Christian Church for over 30 years where he was a greeter for many years with his wife.

Lee coached all of his boys Little League and Babe Ruth teams, and even helped establish a league for 16 to 18 year olds in Joplin that played in Joe Becker Stadium. He loved spending time with his family, was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed playing cards with family and friends.

Lee is survived by his wife of 46 years, Judy Petty; three sons, Brian Petty and wife Penny of Carthage, Travis Petty and wife Theresa of Joplin, and Brandon Petty and Tracey of Joplin; grandchildren, Kalyn Petty, Fisher Petty, Jax Petty, Blake Petty, Brandon Petty, Madden Petty, Carter Elder, and Ashley Wilson; great grandson, Landon Heath; cousin, Christine Graves and husband Don of Wichita, Kansas.

Graveside services will be Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 3:30 p.m. in Osborne Memorial Cemetery Pastor Randy Gariss officiating.
