Alta Baggett Vernor, 96, passed away at her home, Rosewood Manor, in Scottsboro, Ala. She was born July 22, 1916, in Mart, Tx, to the late James Lloyd and Carrie Mae Baggett. She was a graduate of Riesel High School and Baylor University. She married Thomas A. Vernor, Jr. of Taft, Tx where they made their home and raised their family. After her husband's death in 2009 she moved to Alabama to join two of her children. Alta is survived by sister Lorena Miller; daughters, Mary Louise Morgan, and Peggy Kosub; son, Tom Vernor; grandchildren.
