Marion S. Bennett Johnson, 70, of Gainesville, FL, died Sunday, Sept. 25, 1994 in the Gainesville Nursing Center.

She was born in Wayland, NY, the daughter of Guy Bennett, Sr. and Mildred Sisson Bennett. She graduated from Wayland High School in 1942 and Cornell University in 1947.

She and her husband, Carl Johnson, resided in Binghamton, NY, for many years. She taught fifth grade at the Chenango Valley School for 20 years where she received an award for being Teacher of the Year.

She was also a Girl Scout leader and attended First Presbyterian Church in Binghamton.

Surviving are her husband, Carl Johnson of Inglis, FL; her daughter, Dr. Suzanne B. Johnson of Archer, FL; two sons, Dr. Carl Nils Johnson of McMurray, PA, and Peter Lars Johnson of Gainesville, FL; and seven grandchildren.

Also surviving are her father, Guy Bennett, Sr. and her brother, Guy Bennett, Jr., both of Wayland; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside funeral service is to be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Archer, FL, on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 1994 at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of No. Central Florida, 1831 NY 13th St., Suite 1, Gainesville, FL, 32609; or the Wayland Historical Society, P.O. Box 494, Wayland, NY 14572.
