HATINEN, Dorothy A.

Dorothy A. (Byer) Hatinen, 85, formerly of West Hartford, beloved wife of the late Lauri E. Hatinen, passed away peacefully, Friday (January 11, 2008), at Avon Health Care, Avon. She was born in Bemidji, MN, daughter of the late James and Anna (St. Pierre) Byer and had resided in West Hartford over 65 years. From 1996 - 2006 Dorothy was able to enjoy the winter season in Mesa, AZ. She had been an employee of the Royal Typewriter Co. many years and retired from Sage-Allen in West Hartford Center. Dorothy is survived by two sons and daughters in law, Larry J. and Sheri Hatinen of Manomet, MA and Lynn L. and Judy Hatinen of Unionville; five grandchildren, Traci, Tami, Larry, Jr., Erik and Scott; twelve great-grandchildren and three sisters, Rose Byer of Wethersfield, Doris Gustafson and Wilma Hall both of Minnesota. Dorothy also leaves a special nephew, James Byer of Suffield. The family would like to thank the Avon Health Center for the special care given to Dorothy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, Jan. 14 at 10 a.m. at St. Mark The Evangelist Church, West Hartford. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. Calling hour will be prior to the funeral mass from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. at the Sheehan-Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford.
