In 1884, Gordonsville, Grayson Co., TX, he married Mrs.Martha Elmira "Mattie" DOBYNS Reed, b. Cambridge, Story Co., IA.

Children born of this union were: Ivy Jaye Cotner; Ada Jaye Scrogg; William "Bill" Jaye; Ida Bell Jaye Yoakum; Eva Velma Jaye Yoakum; Ora Jaye Ogburn; Vaughn Jennings Bryan Jaye; Guy Leroy "Little Guy" Jaye.

Mr. Jaye was a master carpenter, home builder and member of WOW, (Woodmen of the World) organization of which his tombstone marker honors his name and craftsmanship.
