1924 - 2013
VETERAN

Our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend Charles Homer Duncan, age 88 passed away peacefully May 13, 2013.

Chuck was born June 9, 1924 in a sandstone house in Meadow, Utah. He is the son of Charles Edwin Duncan and Jean Urie Duncan. He grew up in Provo, Utah with his older brother Faust, his younger sister Anna, and brother Bill.

As a young man Chuck was stationed during WWII at a submarine base in Kodiak, Alaska. He was a sergeant in the Army. He fell in love with Alaska and travelled there often during his later years. He had many stories to tell about his Army days and how cold it was at the Army base.

He met his sweetheart, Adele Murdock in Salt Lake City. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple in 1945. They spent their early years in Logan and settled in the Canyon Rim area where they welcomed the addition of their children Kim and Shane. He was a wonderful husband and father who devoted his life to his family.

After Adele passed away, he nurtured a special friendship with Beth Anderson and was her constant companion for 22 years.

Chuck had a great love for the outdoors. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener and boasted that while he was Scout Master, all of the boys obtained their Eagle Scout award.

Chuck was a professional "fixer". His work career was servicing and repairing office machines. He worked on the first computers and was amazed at how computer technology changed. Chuck was always ready to help anyone who needed it, whether it was taking out the trash for a neighbor or fixing something. His knowledge and willingness to help everyone will be missed.

Chuck will be missed by all who knew him. He was a sterling example of how we should live our lives…love much, live simply, help those who need it and keep smiling until the very end!

Funeral services will be held May 23, 2013 at 11:00am. East Lawn Memorial Hills Cemetery. 4800 North East Lawn Drive, Provo, Utah.
