Daughter of Michael Chanley and Mary Miles.

Wife of William Freson aka Frison, Freason and Freeson.
On September 6, 1892 in Dubois County, Melvina at age 31, married William Frison age 27, son of Joseph Frison and Rosa Gasser. They were married by a Catholic priest in Huntingburg, Indiana. It was a first marriage for them both. William worked on the railroad and Melvina was employed as a seamstress.

Melvina is buried with the last name of Chanley on her headstone next to her parents.

Her record of death is recorded in Dubois County as:
Melana/Milana Freason, age 34 years, died 29 Mar 1895
Book CO-01 page 256 and also in Book HU-01 Page 53.

It appears that while she lived in Huntingburg and her death was recorded in Huntingburg, she may have died at her parents home which was outside the city limits and that is why her death was recorded again in the County books.
