Line of Duty Death.
Captain Bishop was assigned to Fire Station 4. The crew from Fire Station 4 was dispatched to 2707 Grant Street for a house fire on February 28, 1926. With the house in flames the crew went to the back of the house to attempt to extinguish it. The chimney fell from the house. Captain Bishop sustained injuries from the debris and was taken to Saint Joseph Hospital. He lost his life the next morning.
