"The play "The Rivals," given by the senior class of the Waterloo high school last night was a decided success, and gave universal satisfaction to the large and enthusiastic audience present. Each Member who had a part enacted the role in a manner that afflicted great credit upon him and won commendation of all. The parts taken by Glen Payne , Philip Elliott, Ralph Peed and Verna Hallowell were especially strong and won many words of praise from those present. All in all it was a great success, and the high school people may feel a just pride in the result. The play was under the direct charge of Miss Lucy Miller, who directs this department of the high school work and the unqualified success of each participant reflects unstinted praise upon her as instructor and upon the young people who proved to be such ready and successful actors."
