L. W. DOWNING – GLASGOW, Ky. (Spl.) – Funeral services for Lester Whitt [sic] Downing, 74, who had been in the banking business here since 1922, will be conducted today at 4 p.m. at Crow Funeral Home. Burial will be in Glasgow Cemetery. Downing, a director and former executive vice president of Citiezns [sic] Bank and Trust Co., died Monday at Community Hospital. He had retired a year ago because of poor health. He was past president of the Kentucky Bankers Association and had held various local offices, including terms as Barren County treasurer, and as treasurer of the Barren County Board of Education. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Nettie Bewley Downing, and a son J. C. Downing, and daughter, Mrs. Ann Mathews, both of Glasgow.
