Ja'Nae Lynnesse Hornsby, of Moore, OK

Ja'Nae Lynnesse Hornsby was born November 20, 2003 to Joshua and Jocelyn Hornsby at OU Medical in Oklahoma City, OK. She was preceded in death by her Mother, Jocelyn Hornsby and Grandma, Chiquita Redd. Who is Ja'Nae? The most beautiful child you could have ever met or known. Ja'Nae had a beautiful smile and you couldn't help but love those big brown eyes. If you were upset or down about anything, you would forget about it because she had such a beautiful smile and her laugh was contagious. So, she never had a problem making friends and meeting new people. Ja'Nae was always ready to tell you what was on her mind. She was full of energy from the moment she woke up until she went to sleep. Ja'Nae loved being a big sister most of all. She always wanted to help with her little sister, Jia; from changing her diaper, to giving her a bath. If it was for her sister, Ja'Nae wanted to do it for her. She loved to play dress up in wigs and heels and walk through the house just singing away. She couldn't hold a tune, but that didn't matter because that is what she enjoyed doing. She always thought she was the best at everything. If you could do it, she was better at it. She had the heart of a champion. Everyone loved her and she will be missed. On May 20, 2013, Ja'Nae Hornsby departed this life.

She leaves her memories with her father, Joshua Hornsby (Danielle Haynes); sister, Jia Hornsby; grandparents, Henry and Yolanda Hornsby, Gary Redd (Shirley), Corwin Pierre, Geraldine Franklin; great-grandparents, Roy L. Redd, David and Kara Dixon, Tommy and Annette Johnson; Aunts, Jannette Rush, Denise Pierre (Renwick), Angela Hornsby, Shequita Redd, Exzandria Hornsby, Chakara Redd; Uncles, Ricky Hornsby, Brandon Phillips (Diane), Gwyenne Phillips (Shanale), Richard Hornsby, Henry Hornsby, Jr. and a host of cousins and other family members not forgotten.

ARRANGEMENTS:
Funeral Services are 11:00am, Friday, May 31, 2013 at Fairview Missionary Baptist Church, 1700 NE 7th Street, Oklahoma City, OK.

Interment will follow to Trice Hill Cemetery, 5101 N. Coltrane in Oklahoma City, OK.

Services are under the direction of John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel.

MOORE, Okla. – To say Chakara Redd is heartbroken would be an understatement.
She's mourning the loss of her niece JaNae Hornsby one of the seven students who died at Plaza Towers Elementary after the deadly Moore tornado.
"Its devastating," Redd said. "It's hard because Janae was only nine years old and not to mention we just buried her mom a year ago and to go through this now is hard."
JaNae's mother Josselyn died unexpectedly last year from complications with lupus.
Her aunt Chakara and great aunt Janet saw her at a memorial service marking the one year anniversary of her mother's death last month.
They had no idea that would be the last time they would see her.
"She went to go be with her mom," said the third grader's great aunt, Janet Rush. "That's the only thing that is going to keep me going because I know her mom is going to take care of her and she's going to give her all the love and the hugs she needs.
This social butterfly never met a stranger.
She had a second bedroom at her aunt Janet's house.
She loved school and everything Hello Kitty.
The family wants people to remember the love she brought to their lives and the light that shined from within, not the tragic way she died.
"Spending time with her laughing, going to different restaurants and her teaching people how to love; those are my memories of JaNae I will hold on to. She was just a happy sweet girl."

A Star ☆ will shine brightly in the sky.
