Funeral services for Mrs. Charles Leslin were held Tuesday morning at St. Peter's Church. The Rev. Robert Roster officiated, and burial was in the Winamac cemetery. The rosary was recited Monday night at the Fry & Lange funeral home.
Death occurred Saturday in St. Joseph's hospital at Logansport after a week's illness following a stroke. She was seventy-three years of age on Sept. 13, and had lived in the county since four years of age, coming here from Chicago with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Engels. As Mary Susan Engels, she was married in 1905 to Mr. Leslin who died in 1950.
She was active in church and community affairs, as a member of St. Peter's church and Christian Mothers solality, and as a charter member of the Rich Grove-Franklin Home Demonstration club, in which she held a perfect attendance record.
Four daughters and one son survive, Mrs. Leona bogash, Mrs. Iona Liebner, Mrs. Marie Lange, Mrs. Lois Eiler and Chester Leslin, all of Winamac; eleven grandchildren and one great-grandson; three brothers, Michael Engels of Know, Hoseph of Vincent, Iaa., and John of Winamac; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Kostaniak of Knox, Mrs. Theresa Kasten of Lacrosse and Mr. Margaret Smith of Winamac.
