Russell F. Brown, 94, Pleasant View Rest Home, Winamac, formerly of Ora, died at 2:39 p.m. Saturday in Pulaski Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient for two days. He had moved to Ora from Knox in 1950 and had resided in the rest home for the past 5 years.
Born Sept. 9, 1889 in Claypool, he was the son of George Phillip and Tressie Regnos Brown. He married Agnes Scholer on June 11, 1950 in Ora, who died Dec. 1, 1975
He was retired from the Nickel Plate Railroad in 1961.
He was a member of the Railroad Clerk's Union and a 50 year member of the Warsaw Lodge No. 73 F&AM.
Survivors include: two sons, Thomas Dewain Brown, Pharr, Texas and John Wallace Brown, Littleton, Colo.; one step-daughter, Ruth McConnell, Gary; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two half sisters, Thelma Tucker, Wabash and Ruth Fidler, North Webster.
Graveside services will be held Thursday at 12:30 p.m. in the Winamac Cemetery with Rev. John Sargent officiating.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in Denver, Colo.
