Funeral services for Mary Lilliam Stepp, 78, 530 N. Riverside Drive, Winamac, will be held today (Wednesday) at 3 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church, Winamac. She died at 7:05 a.m. Sunday in Pulaski Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient since Jan 22. She had been in failing health for the past three years.
Born June 19, 1905, in Winamac, she was the daughter of George and Lola Prince Young. She married Arnold Isaac Stepp on April 24, 1923, in Rensselaer, who died July 10, 1949.
She was a lifetime resident of the area and was a homemaker. She also did housekeeping at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Russell and was a former telephone operator in Winamac.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Winamac, and the Order of Eastern Star, Tippecanoe Chapter No. 96, Winamac.
Surviving are four daughters: Arnabelle Penicaro and Marilyn McCormick, Winamac, Joann Cochrin, Massilon, Ohio, and Florence Baldwin, Kewanna; one son, James R. Stepp, North Judson; 19 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren.
One grandson and one daughter preceded her in death.
Rev. Dennis Engle and Rev. Marc Royer will officiate at the services and burial will be in the Winamac Cemetery.
Eastern Star services were held at the Frain Mortuary Tuesday evening.
