A lifetime resident of the area, she was born October 9, 1894 in Franklin Township, the daughter of Henry P. and Emma Welch Conn. She married William F. Nims on June 30, 1925 in Winamac, who died May 27, 1939.
She was a retired school teacher having taught for 37 years in Winamac and surrounding areas. She was a graduate of Winamac High School and Manchester College.
she was a member of Winamac Presbyterian Church, Calendar Year, Mother's Club and Extension Homemaker's club.
Surviving are: three daughters, Emma Lou Lemmon, Scottsdale, Az., Martha Jane Christy, Covington, and Marilyn Sue Alexander, Winamac; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
Funeral services were held Sunday in Frain Mortuary with Rev. William Mathys officiating. Burial was in the Winamac cemetery.
