Funeral services for James Madison (Jim) Simmons of Nevada, Tx who died Tuesday in a Greenville hospital were held 2 pm today in Wylie First Baptist Church with Rev A.L. Draper officiating.

Interment was in Wylie Cemetery, Allen Funeral home in Charge.

He was born 18 Nov 1904 in Oklahoma, the son of William Simmons and Tinnie (Anderson)Simmons. He married Winnie L Benson 29 Feb 1927 in Oklahoma. She preceded him in death.

Survivors include four sons, Willie D Strickland of Wylie; James Madison Simmons Jr of Plano; Kenneth Simmons of Nevada and Bobby Simmons of Wylie; four brothers Ira and John Simmons of Wylie; Roy and AC Simmons of Oklahoma; one sister Ruby Jackson of Wylie; 11 grandchildren; ten great-grand children.
