Joe D. Arrowood Sr. SUFFOLK - Joe Don Arrowood Sr., 69, passed away April 10, 2010. He was born in Highpoint, N.C., the son of the late William McCoy Arrowood and Viola Maggie Shehan Arrowood.
He was also predeceased by two brothers, Dairl E. and James F. Arrowood.
Joe retired from bridge maintenance at the Virginia Department of Transportation.
Joe is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mamie O. Jernigan Arrowood of Suffolk; sons, Joe Don Arrowood Jr. and wife Kathy of Suffolk, David Lee Arrowood and wife Rhonda of Melfa, William Rodney Arrowood and Fiancée Tammy of Suffolk; grandchildren, Kristen, Dallas, Shane, Ashley, Justin, Addison, Riley, John, Dennis, Shannon, Don Eric, and Tessa; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Zaine, Jace, Jordyn, Carson, and Evan; sisters, Elaine Alexandra of St. Stephens Church, Virginia, Pam Hackney of Concord, N.C.; brothers, William C. Arrowood of Culpepper, Douglas Arrowood of Chestertown, Md., Roger Arrowood of Fredricksburg; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
