Carl Schwarzenbek, 64, of Westfield died peacefully on Jan. 2 in Overlook Hospital, Summit. Relatives and friends are also kindly invited to the funeral service to be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. with the interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Westfield. Carl was a Vietnam War veteran, and a retiree of Sky Auction.com of New York City. Carl was the beloved husband of the late Eileen (Reiley) Schwarzenbek (1999), and was predeceased by his father, Eugene Francis Schwarzenbek (2000). He is survived by his loving daughter, Meghan Schwarzenbek of Cranford, and his devoted mother, Ida Schwarzenbek of Seaside Park. He was also the dear brother of June Smerling of Boca Raton, Fla., Eugene and his wife, Cathy, of Westfield, Lynn Rayfiel and her husband, David, of New York City, Robert and his wife, Susan, of Readington Township, Gail Hering and her husband, Michael, of Westfield, Pamela Stahl of Forked River, Wendy Stoll and her husband, Jon, of Parker, Colo., Diane Schwarzenbek of Boca Raton, Fla., and many nieces and nephews. Carl was a loving husband, father, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend who will be deeply missed.
