Charles Francis Choate Jr. collapsed in court and later died of a heart attack in Boston. He was born in Cambridge on Oct 23, 1866*. He founded a family that was destined to win high renown in the legal field.
He prepared for college at St. Marks School and graduated from Harvard in the class of 1888 and was a star of the baseball team in one season.
Almost from the start of his legal career, Mr. Choate won distinction. Although he was master of every phase of the law, and won striking victories in many directions, he won national prominence in railroad law.
