Longtime Yuma resident Joseph Giuseppe Ciciulla passed away on May 16, 2013 at the age of 93. He was born November 3, 1919, in Omaha, Nebraska. Joe was the son of Rosa Demari Ciciulla and Filadelfo Ciciulla of Omaha, Nebraska, Italian immigrants from Carlentini, Sicily (Italy). He was a World War II Veteran and served over three years in the Army Air Corp (Force), 334th Fighter Squadron, throughout England and Northern Europe. He achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. After the war, he went on to work for the Federal Aviation Administration as an Aircraft Inspector and he retired after 33 years of service. A viewing for Joe will be held at Johnson Mortuary, Yuma, Arizona, on Friday, May 24, 2013 from 6pm until 8pm and a Graveside Service will be held Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 10am with the American Legion Post #19 and Elks Lodge #476 officiating. In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made to the Yuma Humane Society, Elks Lodge #476 or the American Legion Post #19.
