Oma "Blanche" Clampitt, 81, R.R. 2 Box 149C, died Friday morning at the home of her daughter (August 10, 19790). funeral service will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home, Scottsburg, Indiana; burial will be held in Scottsburg Cemetery, Scottsburg, Indiana.

She was born in Jackson County, Indiana, June 1, 1898 to Myron "Harvey" and Nora May (Crawford) Umphress. She was married December 11, 1922 to Charlie Ora Clampitt who died September 30, 1962 and was a member of Village Green Church of Christ in Michigan City, Indiana. She was a "Gold Star Mother" of Scott County, Indiana having lost her oldest son William Harvey, who died of his wounds due to enemy action during the Korean Conflict.

She is survived by three daughters and four sons, Alice Vernon, Michigan City, Ind; Ellen Gillogly, Underwood, Ind.; Evelyn Brown, Scottsburg, Ind.;Donald, Cleveland Heights, Ohio; James, Jonesville, Ind, Ind.; Charlies "Junior", Scottsburg; and Clinton, Underwood, Ind.; four sisters and a brother, Estie Arthur, Pekin, Ill.; Elma Lawson, Franklin, Ind.; Ella Hanners, Toledo, Ohio; Robert Umphress, Varna, Ill.; 28 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
