Sarah Jane "Sallie" Caraway was born Aug 1844, Tippah Co., Miss to Richard & Elizabeth Caraway. Sallie died Oct 23, 1922, and is buried at Francis Cemetery. Her siblings were Francis Ann, William Thomas, & George W. Caraway.
She married #1 to Silas M. "Ross" Clark in 1859 & had a son, Sylvester Clark, who was a Marshall in Thayer, MO & was shot by a drunk he was trying to arrest. His body was shipped by rail to Penters Bluff & he is probably buried at Francis Cemetery. Sylvester married Orpha Clouse and their daughter was Rosetta.
Sallie married #2 to William T. Tate in 1869. They had two children – Martha Georgia Ann Tate and William Newton Tate. Martha married #1 to James Helm & #2 to Luther Lee Ford.
Sallie married #3 to John A. Rogers in 1878. Their children were Sarah M. and Rueben Walter Rogers. Ruben is buried at Barren Fork Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant and his wife, Florida, is buried in Francis Cemetery. Sallie's daughter, Sarah, married Thomas F. Anderson.
