Betty J. Ammerman, age 78, of 2320 Polk St., Two Rivers, died Sunday morning, Dec. 6, 2009, at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers, with her family by her side.

Betty was born Dec. 26, 1930, in Manitowoc to John and Jeanette (Hempton) Cain. She attended Lincoln High School. On Aug. 19, 1950, she married Ralph F. Ammerman at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Ralph preceded Betty in death on May 21, 2001. Betty was employed with the Two Rivers Hospital as a certified nursing assistant for 30 years, from which she retired in 1992. She was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church in Two Rivers. Betty volunteered at the Two Rivers Senior Center and Two Rivers Historical Society. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Betty is survived by four children: Randy (Jean) Ammerman, Two Rivers; Gregory (Kathie) Ammerman, Green Bay; David (Beth) Ammerman, Evansville and Patty (Gary) Heise, Manitowoc; 14 grandchildren (private); two great-grandchildren (private); one brother-in-law: Doug Rohde, Dunbar, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Betty is preceded in death by four brothers and sisters-in-law: John (Ruth) Cain; Gordon (Katie) Cain; George (Rosie) Cain; and Roy Cain; two sisters and one brother-in-law: Helen (Francis) Neuman and Jeanette Rohde.

Funeral services for Betty will be held Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009, at 7 p.m. at Grace Congregational United Church of Christ, 2801 Garfield St., Two Rivers. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Kim Henning. Cremation will take place with burial of the cremated remains at Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers at a later date.

Family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday, Dec. 9 from 4 until 6:45 p.m. at Grace Congregational United Church of Christ.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated in Betty's name.
The Klein & Stangel Funeral Home, Two Rivers, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

Funeral services for Betty were canceled last evening and are rescheduled for Thursday (TONIGHT), Dec. 10, at 7 p.m. at Grace Congregational United Church of Christ, 2801 Garfield St., Two Rivers. [THERE WAS A SNOWSTORM WITH 9" OF SNOW IN MANITOWOC.] Officiating the service will be Pastor Kim Henning. Cremation will take place, with burial of the cremated remains at Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers, at a later date.

Family will greet relatives and friends TONIGHT from 4 until 6:45 p.m., also at church. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated in Betty's name.

The Klein & Stangel Funeral Home, Two Rivers is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
