Orwin A. Blair
Orwin A. Blair, 76, died Thursday, July 10, 1858 in Stockton, Calif. He had lived there since his retirement in 1951 at the time of his wife's death.
He was born Sept. 21, 1881, at Frankfort, the son of John Calvin and Sarah Blair. He married Mary C. Hybskmann in 1902. There was born to this union three children, Donald W. Blair of Stockton, Raymond D. Blair of Centralia and Marie C. Thompson of Stockton. There is one surviving sister, Mrs. Bessie Allee of Santa Monica, Calif. There are four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mr. Blair moved to this community in early childhood and remained here until the time of his retirement. He was a graduate of Centralia High School. He owned various businesses in Centralia through the years. He was in the grocery business with his father several years. In 1930 he started in that business for himself and continued until his retirement in 1951.
He was a long time member of the Masons and the Modern Woodmen of America.
Funeral services were held in the Centralia Methodist church at 2:30 Sunday afternoon conducted by the minister the Rev. Glen Amend. Mrs. O.E. McClary accompanied Mrs. Wm. Warren who sang "The Lord's Prayer" and "Nearer My God to Thee." Pallbearers were Don Norton, Paul Norton, Raymond Colwell, Virgil Kelley, Glen Ward, Burton Lohmuller. Burial was in the Centralia cemetery. The Hayes Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
