His mother Jeanette married Jay Hadlock in 1942 and the family moved to Baker,
California where his parents ( mother and step - father) built, owned, and operated Hadlocks Service Station, Cafe, and Motel business for many years. Bruce and his sister Patsy both attended Elementary School in Baker's very small schoolhouse. Bruce grew up and lived in the desert as a youth. He graduated from Las Vegas High School in 1956. He was on the baseball, track, and football teams.
Many of Bruce's adventures are recorded and noted in the historical book of Baker, California entitled "Pilgrims In The Desert" written by author Mr. Le Hayes.

He received his bachelor's degree from Graceland College of Iowa in 1960. He held several jobs, including the director of admissions for Tarkio College in Missouri.
Bruce had lived in Minden, NV, Wellington, NV, and Gardnerville, NV, at various times.
He was preceded in death by both parents and is survived by his sister Patsy J. Newton and his brother Richard W. "Dick" Hadlock
Bruce Allen Clark died August 1, 2006, at his home in Las Vegas, Nevada
A celebration of his life was held August 9, 2005 at the Carson Valley United Methodist Church with High Priest Harry Dennis of Boise, Idaho presiding.
