Daughter of Lester and Irene Smith.
Wife of Alan Carey.
For 10 years she worked as an Avon representative in and around Laurel. She also worked as a cashier for numerous local businesses in and around Laurel.
She enjoyed going to the beaches and traveling, reading many novels and collecting any-thing to do with pelicans, sheep and palm trees. Every year she looked forward to her vacation time to the Delaware State Fair, where her husband and two sons showed sheep, and she was al-ways in charge of the crowning of a sheep and wool queen.
Mrs. Carey was a member of Broadcreek Grange 59 for more than 30 years and a member of the Laurel Volunteer Fire De-partment Ladies Auxiliary for 41 years.
