Gabriel Smith Randall was known as Smith Randall. Emily Crandell Blake said "as I remember, Alphonso was uncle Smith's oldest child, died when quite young." Could this be Veloras or Velmar, who is listed as 19 yrs living with this family in 1850? In a letter to Lamont Stephens in 1932, Emily Blake says in addition, "Lorenzo visited us with his wife. the girls were Emeline, Cordelia (I think) and Alvira, the youngest child. They all visited in Durand, IL as did Uncle Smith and Aunt Arminda Mott.

Smith Randall purchased land in Wayne county MI from U.S. on Nov. 23, 1835, from Israel Osborn & wife Laura of Superior twp. on Apr. 29, 1837, from William & Sophia Randall on Aug 17, 1853. He sold land in Canton twp with his wife Rachel L. to Wm. H. Delano on Nov 26, 1852. Smith also witnessed the sale of 3 acres in Nankin twp from his daughter Cordelia to Nanette B.
