Mr. Donald Eugene Sanders Sr., 71, of Hamlet, died Sunday, April 17, 2011, at his home.
Mr. Sanders was born April 7, 1940 in Scotland County, a son of the late William J. and Lillie Davis Sanders.
He retired from Klopman Mills. Mr. Sanders was a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church in Rockingham.
He is survived by his wife, Rachel Evers Sanders of the home; three sons, Donald E. Sanders Jr. of Hamlet, Michael and Andy Sanders, both of Rockingham; two daughters, Carol Stutts of Aiken, S.C. and Miranda Sanders of Hamlet; five grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2011, at Faith Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry McDaniel officiating. Interment will follow at Northam Cemetery in Rockingham.
The family will see friends on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, from 6 - 8 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at the home.
