She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Broadus Sr., in 1984.
She graduated from high school and attended Storer College, both in Harpers Ferry, W.Va. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church in Hagerstown, was a member of the Usher Board, Missionary Society, Church Women United and served as secretary. She was a member of Sharon Temple 160 of the Elks, and was trustee assistant dt. ruler, excourt doorkeeper, gatekeeper and secretary. She was a past loyal dt. ruler of the Rainbow Council of Maryland, West Virginia and Virginia. She was an officer of the excourt and was a trustee, secretary and a member of the Tri-State Association. She volunteered with the Cancer Drive and United Way and served on the advisory board of the March of Dimes. She was a judge for the Washington County Election Board and a former vice president of the Republican Club of Washington County, where she was serving as chairperson of the Telephone Committee. She was a member of Washington County Hospital Auxiliary.
She is survived by a son, John Broadus Jr. of Hagerstown; a sister, Mary Dooley of White Sulfur Springs, W.Va.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Moxley; two sons, Frank Broadus and Charles Broadus; and a brother, David Cole.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Zion Baptist Church in Hagerstown. The Rev. Haru Carter will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
