Cecilia died from heat stroke after being left in the car by her mother. She had fallen asleep in the backseat of the family SUV and her mother, assistant principal of a local elementary school, forgot she was in the backseat and left her in the car in the 100 degree heat. The temperature in the car had reached nearly 125 degrees.
