Fernando Reyes Flores was born July 4, 1986 and was called to heaven on May 23, 2013. Fernando (Nando) was born in Adrian, Michigan to Deborah Flores. He grew up in the South Belt area of Houston, Texas and graduated in 2005 from J. Frank Dobie High School. He was an active member of his community throughout high school and college. After graduation, Fernando attended San Jacinto Community College in Houston and San Antonio Community College in San Antonio. He wanted to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather and decided to join the United States Air Force in January 2009.

Fernando was stationed at Edwards Air Force Base, California and was assigned to the 412th Security Forces' Squadron. He was a member of the Quick Reaction Force and also a flight and physical trainer for his squadron. SrA Fernando Flores deployed to the city of Riyadh in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2010, and again deployed to the United Arab Emirates in 2012. On July 21, 2012 Fernando married his best friend of 10 years, Vanessa Munoz Flores of Houston, Texas.

Nando enjoyed riding his motorcycle; he loved the ocean, was an avid Houston Texans fan, dedicated to health and fitness and cherished the time spent with his family and friends.

Fernando is preceded in death by his grandfather, Armando Robert Flores from Blissfield, Michigan. He is survived by his wife, Vanessa Flores; his parents Andrew and Deborah Belmarez; grandparents, Trinidad Flores of Blissfield, Michigan; and Agapito and Andrea Belmarez of Houston, Texas; brothers, Joey De La Cruz (Kristen), Michael Belmarez; sisters, Venessa and Delores Valdez of Michigan, and his niece and goddaughter Emma Ann De La Cruz; his in-laws, Ruben and Aracelia Munoz, brother-in-law, Ruben Alexander Munoz, and sister-in-law, Melissa Munoz. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Fernando was a son, husband, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend who will be missed and never forgotten. His infectious smile, his kind-heartedness, and his passion for family and friends will be cherished forever—until we meet again.
