She is survived by daughters, Harriet Sowers and husband Dan of Vernon Center, Charlotte Fatland and husband Robert of Fargo, N.D., Arlys Hansen of Maple Grove and Avis Wakey and husband Thomas of Northrop; son, Arlon and wife Jackie of Garden City; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Arlo Jr.; brothers, Kenneth and Arlo; sister, Darlene; and grandchildren, Mark and Darin Sowers.
She was born May 9, 1923, in rural Nicollet County, to William and Freda (Tetzloff) Pfeil. She grew up in rural Nicollet, Lewisville, Garden City and Madelia, where she graduated from high school in 1941. She married Arlo Becker on March 27, 1942. They farmed in rural Garden City until 1949 and then in rural Madelia until retiring in 1978. They wintered in Apache Junction, Ariz. for 27 years. Arlo died in May 1993. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and a former member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Vernon Center. She was active with the Ladies Aid and Bible Study and was also a member of NFO, Farm Bureau and Farmers Union.
