Ray Chapman, 88, of Henry, passed away peacefully May 25, 2013 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. His funeral service will be held May 31, 2013 at the Seventh Adventist Church in Scottsbluff. Interment will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery near Morrill. Ray was born on April 8, 1925 in Minatare to Charles and Bertha(Segebartt)Chapman. He went to grade school at nine mile and one year his ninth grade year to Platte Valley Academy. Ray served in the Korean War from 1950 to 1952. He drove truck hauling crude oil before and after he married Lorraine Nuss on August 16, 1953. To this union four children were born, Dwaine, Ed, Stan, Ken. Ray farmed his entire life up and down the valley and a short time in Whitney, NE. He also had his CDL and at different times drove truck for various people. The last 21 years he lived in Henry farming and driving semi with the family.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine, sons Dwaine (Diane) Chapman, Ed (Steph) Chapman, Stan Chapman, Ken Chapman, nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, sister Glenna Hedgecock.He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Phyllis Chapman, Ruth(Bruce)Brown.
