We are not positive of his father's name but there is a marriage of Hattie Franklin to Joseph Russel dated 5 Feb 1887 in Washington County, Nebraska. Daniel's mom Hattie must have left Nebraska to join her family here in California soon after Daniel's birth as we find her in the 1900 census in Riverside, California. She is married to Jose Demetrio Trujillo and has been married about seven years. Their oldest son, Ray Ely FAG #111364851 was born in Riverside abt 1893. We don't know what happened to Joseph Russel from Nebraska, at this time. Daniel's mom Hattie M Franklin divorced Demetrio by 1910 and started using the last name of her first husband - Russell. She is with son Daniel in the 1910 census in Highgrove, California.
