Obituary: Ben Gragg an old settler of this community died at the residence of Wm. Blake last night at 7:30 and will be buried at Gragg's Chapel at eleven o'clock Saturday, the funeral being conducted at the home at 10 a.m. The deceased was 64 years of age and one of Jefferson County's earliest settlers, having arrived about 1856. He has been making his home with his daughter Mrs. W. A. Blake. Last Saturday he became suddenly ill complaining of pains in the head, Sunday morning he was unconscious and remained in that condition until death - apparently suffering very little. A sister in Oklahoma, and a wife and the following children survive him, Mrs. Anna Blake, Wm, Homer, Zack,Boyd, Ernest and Mell.
