Dennis E. "Duke" AYERS, 52, of Sioux City died Monday, 7 Feb. 2005, at an Omaha hospital.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Hunt Funeral Home, with the Rev. Daniel Wittrock, pastor of St. Michael Catholic Church, officiating. Burial, with military graveside flag presentation, will be in St. Michael Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
"Duke" was born 24 July 1952, in Sioux City, the son of William & Mary C. (KIRCHMEIER) AYERS. He graduated from Central High School in 1971.
He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
He received his associate's degree from Buena Vista College in Storm Lake. He was employed at IBP & Tyson Fresh Foods for 30 years. He also was
employed at Steinbeck Bar & Grill in Sioux City.
He is survived by 4 brothers & their wives, Kenneth & Kathy of Nashville, Tenn., David & Lori of Champaign, Ill, Mark & Ellen of Sioux Center, Iowa, and Billy & Susan of Butler, Minn.; 2 sisters, Karen WELLS & Linda & her husband, Charles FERFEL, all of Sioux City; and nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be Kevin, David, Mark, & Billy Ayers, & Michael & Brian Wells.
