GERALD BARNEY DEAD

Gerald Barney, 31, Casselton business man and coach of Lincoln High School's football team there, a former member of the North Dakota Agricultural varsity gridiron team, died in a Fargo hospital Thursday at 4:40 p.m. from a kidney infection.

Barney was part owner of the Baum & Barney meat market at Casselton, succeeding his father who died two years ago.

Born at Marshall, Mn Nov. 18, 1903, Barney resided with his parents in Red Lake Falls for some time, and has been a resident of Casselton for 15 years. He is a graduate of Casselton's Lincoln High School, and the N.D.A.C.

Four sisters and one brother, all of Casselton, survive. They are Gracie, Mrs. George Brekke, Mrs. Lester Ricketts, Barbara, and Donovan.

The funeral will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the Presbyterian Church with Rev. C.A.L. Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Casselton Cemetery. The body is at the S.S. West funeral home.
