Melvin Voss, 55, of Plymouth, collapsed and died of an apparent heart attack Thursday at his home.
His death occurred a day after he was involved in a traffic accident in the Village of Elkhart Lake in which he lost consciousness at the wheel of his car.
Sheriff Deputies said Mr. Voss was en route to work about 6:50 a.m. Wednesday when his car left a village street and struck the front of George Dexheimer home on Maple Street in Elkhart Lake, causing minor property damage.
Apparently uninjured in the accident, Mr. Voss refused medical attention and was taken to his home at Plymouth by sheriff officers.
Born October 15, 1912, in the Town of Meeme, Manitowoc County, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Voss.
Oct 31, 1935 he married Elvira Boll in the Town of Sheboygan Falls.
The couple farmed in the Town of Sheboygan Falls until moving to Plymouth in 1956.
A mason, he was employed the past three years at the Sargento Cheese Company in Elkhart Lake.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Roger of Bucyrus, OH, and Ronald, at home; two daughters, Mrs. Byron (Marilyn) Zene, Salem, OR, and Mrs. Theodore (Julie Ann) Sehmer, Waukegan, IL; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Alvin Zimmerman, Elkhart Lake, Mrs. Edward Mahlich, Town Of Schleswig, and Mrs. Reinhold Roethel, Town of Meeme, and two brothers, Alvin, Town of Meeme, and Harvey, Manitowoc.
Three brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Plymouth, Rev. Paul Krueger, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in St. Lucas Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Sheboygan Falls.
