He was born November 6, 1929 in Garden City, Kansas, a son of John B. and Pauline C. Frechin Becquet. Father Becquet was a graduate of St. Mary Parochial School. He entered Brunnerdale High School Seminary on September 10, 1943. Three years later, he transferred to St. Joseph's College in Rensselaer, Indiana. He completed his high school education at St. Joseph's Academy and then attended St. Joseph's College for two years. He transferred to St. Charles Seminary in Carthagena, Ohio in 1950 to complete his college work in philosophy. He trained in theology for four years in preparation for his ordination.

On December 3, 1951 he made his temporary profession as a member of the Society of Missionaries of the Most Precious Blood. On December 3, 1954 he was perpetually incorporated as a member of the Society and was ordained to the priesthood in the Society on June 2, 1956. He received the Mission Cross.

From 1956 to 2000, he served in various parishes in North Dakota, Kansas, Ohio, Oklahoma, and South Dakota. He began serving as a sacramental priest at St. Patrick Church in Sedalia, MO on July 1, 2000.

Surviving are five nephews, two nieces, and several grand-nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
