Army First Lt. James S. Wood was killed in Vietnam. He had been in Vietnam less then a month and was serving with the 25th Infantry Division.
A 1961 graduate of St. Louis County Day School, Lt. Wood attended Washington and Lee University receiving a bachelor's degree in 1965. He did graduate work at Washington University, then enlisted in 1966.
He attended officers candidate school in Fort Benning, Ga and was an instructor there before his assignment to Vietnam.
Jimmy was 25 years old.
