Jackie Mitchell, 77, of Roundup Road, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at her home.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no public service.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Jackie Mitchell was born December 3, 1935 in Alvord, TX to Jack and Mary (Rich) Gossett. She moved to Carlsbad as a young woman with her family. Jackie married Jimmie Mitchell on February 28, 1962 in Mentone, Texas. She had a great love for animals and groomed dogs for many years. Jackie volunteered at Landsun Homes over the past several years. She loved her family and never turned down the opportunity to spend time with them. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jimmie Mitchell; sisters: Katie Holt and Bell Newberry.
Survivors are her daughter, Leslie Powell and husband, Tommy of Carlsbad, NM; four grandchildren: Tammy Bruno and husband, Chris of Carlsbad, NM, Casey Powell of Carlsbad, NM, Mary Powell of Carlsbad, NM, Sarah Caudill of Carlsbad, NM; four great-grandchildren: Evan, Emily, Taylor and Jasper and several nieces and nephews.
