Nellie Brotherton married William Morris, June 27, 1903, in Bartholomew Co., Indiana. They were the parents of seven children: George Aaron, Robert Louis, Florence Luvina, Charles (apparently died in infancy), Asa Elliot, Walter, and Dorothy Mae. William and Nellie were residing together in Columbus in 1930, but seem to have separated not long afterward. The children who married in the 1930s reported their father's residence as "unknown."

Nellie (Brotherton) Morris is buried on the same lot with her parents, George and Martha Brotherton.

Mrs. Nellie G. Morris, 84, of 262 Cleveland street, died yesterday at Johnson County hospital at Franklin. She had been in ill health for several months.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Free Methodist Church by the Rev. H.M. Northern. Burial will be at Springer cemetery.

Persons may call at the Barkes and Inlow funeral home from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, and at the church after 11 a.m. Monday until time of services.

She was born in Elizabethtown, the daughter of the late George and Martha Dickey Brotherton. She was a member of the Free Methodist church.

Survivors include three sons, Asa Morris, Columbus, Ga., Walter Morris, Hornbeak, Tenn., and Robert Morris, Dallas, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Florence Joslin, 2645 Twelfth St., and Mrs. Arthur Riddle, 2744 Thirty-first street; 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-children. She was preceded in death by two sons, George and Charles Morris, and a brother and sister.
