PRINCETON - Edna " Maggie" Holcomb, 71, of 1567 Eades Mill Road in Princeton, died Monday, May 21, 2007 at Princeton Community Hospital.
Born Dec. 22, 1935 in Kellysville, she was the daughter of the late Willi am "Bill" Stafford and Maude Bailey Stafford. She was a former retail sales clerk at several area stores and of the Protestant faith. Mrs. Holcomb, along with her husband Bruce, enjoyed buying, selling and trading at area flea markets as well as the markets in Dublin and Hillsville, Va. Mrs. Holcomb also had a keen interest in the activities and progress of the children being treated at St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.
In addition to her parents, two sisters, Billie Taylor and Marietta Taylor; and two brothers, William Stafford and Estil Stafford preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Bruce C. Holcomb of Princeton; one daughter, Cheryl Leeper of Princeton; two sons, Bruce Holcomb of Akron, Ohio, and Jeffrey Holcomb and wife Drema of Princeton; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one brother, Arnold "Ray" Stafford of Princeton; one sister, Priscilla Larue of Princeton; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 24, 2007 at the G.E. Davis Chapel of Fredeking Funeral Service in Oakvale with the Rev. Larry Dyer officiating. Burial will follow at the Oakvale Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until the service hour on Thursday.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Tribute Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
