Funeral services for Reverend Lee D. Young, 85, will be on Saturday, March 16, 2013, at 1 p.m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis McKinney officiating. Burial will be in Anniston Memorial Gardens. Anniston Funeral Services in charge. Rev. Young passed on March 9, 2013 at RMC. Rev. Young completed his education in Calhoun County Schools, He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Lee retired from Anniston Army Depot in 1990. He served faithfully as Associate Minister at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church until his passing. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Verneeda Young, of Oxford; son, Donald Young, of Oxford; brothers, Rev. Artis (Barbara) Clayton, of Hobson City, and James (Rose) Haynes, of Anniston; daughter-in-law, Lisa Young Joshua, of Chicago, Ill.; seven grandchildren; great-grandchildren; devoted niece, Mary (William) Varner and special goddaughter, Mary (Joe) Harrington; a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Arnold and Clara Young; son, Ronald L. Young Sr.; brother, Douglas Clayton and Helen Leonard.
