Passed away suddenly at his home Tuesday, October 10, 1989. Age 87 years. He was born Sept. 22, 1902 in Reese. He married Clara Schultz June 25, 1925. She survives him. He was employed by General Motors Grey Iron Foundry, retiring after 44 years of service. He was a member of Saginaw Salina Lodge No. 155 F.&A.M. and the Bay City Consistory. He had been active in Buena Vista Township serving on the School Board and Planning Commission for many years. Surviving besides his wife are one son and one daughter and their spouses, Richard and Jean Gulliver, Reese; Joan and Don Thornton, Midland; six grandchildren, Ann and Jim Schiefer, Arizona; Loren, Gregory and Eric Gulliver, all of Reese; Sue Thornton, California; Roger Thornton, Midland; two great-grandchilren. Two sisters and two brother have predeceased him.

Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the W.L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 409 Adams St. Rev. Richard C. Ferne will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the chapel, 409 Adams St. from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday and 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday where the Salina Lodge No. 155 F.&A.M. will conduct a memorial service at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
